A foggy day in December
Those old enough to remember the terrible TV soap Howards Way will know this area well. Most of the filming was done here.
I teach for a sailing school that has an office at the marina here. The boats we use are similar in size to those you see.
Very cold and still. the fog refused to lift all day. The sound of fog horns from the shipping on Southampton Water and the Solent was continuous.
Since this shot was taken, the Harbourmaster has replaced the Starboard hand green post with a metal monstrosity with no character at all.
Handheld 1/640s at f/9 57mm. This is as shot, the full frame.
